When it comes to building successful products, Product Managers are responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, making sure that the product meets the desired business outcomes and satisfies the customer base.
Identity rarely features highly on the list of Product Managers concerns and even worse, it is often viewed as a potential barrier to success. The main reason for this may be that identity is usually viewed as a point in time requirement; a tick in the box exercise, which is static and takes unnecessary focus away from the core product. This results in Identity receiving the minimum amount of focus in order to get the job done.
In this talk, the speaker will be examining the root cause of the identity barrier and introduce the idea that as with all products, Identity is a journey that changes inline with customer expectations and as security best practices evolve. Next, the speaker will discuss the path to Identity as an enabler, working in harmony with an organisation’s product and introduce the “Three Pillars” of the Identity Journey. Finally, there will be an examination of how to realise continuous improvement without redesigning the entire product.
