Since product management is not a science and evolved over time from different practices and needs of tech-driven organizations, many varied profiles have started to fill the shoes of POs. Such differences in this role from organization to organization often lead to POs feeling like imposters. To reduce these insecurities and bring in more confidence, it becomes essential for us to isolate signals of imposter syndrome, build clarity and safety around us and seek out mentors to provide guidance and support. In this presentation, I will share real examples which I have collected over multiple PO meetups. I will also share best practices that they and others have applied to overcome such insecurities.
