Everyone seems to be talking about Product Ops these days — for very good and very bad reasons. Like anything new, there is a lot still unwritten about this new function. It’s up to us, leaders, to build it responsibly. But, while we wait for the dust to settle, companies of all sizes are tailoring Product Ops to their reality, needs, and challenges, creating many definitions. That can be dangerous and has been stirring some discussion about what exactly is Product Ops, and how one can distinguish between the good and the bad.
