Surbhi works at the intersection of business, product and design to build complex interfaces for cloud computing products. She leads 5 products in the databases, AI and analytics space (Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, etc) and 4 newer products in the ML and monitoring space to be announced in the coming months. She leads a team of UX designers and her job is to make sure the team is building the best customer experience for the customer personas which are radically different from the standard personas.
Prior to Amazon, she worked at Alibaba Group as part of the founding team that led Globalization efforts in India, SE Asia and N.A. Markets. As part of her journey there, she worked on all their acquisition / investment deals in Asia and some very interesting partnerships in N.A. Her role spanned across all types of commerce – she ran the first pilots for Alibaba for a product on B2B2C cross border commerce for all three countries, led Omni channel commerce initiatives in N.A., local commerce initiatives with Paytm Mall and Lazada in India and SE Asia (Alibaba-funded entities); also, built out the support system for commerce aka investments and product integrations for logistics, mobile payments and media & entertainment in India. She was the champion of product and built strategies to conquer the market from a product and consumer readiness standpoint.
Prior to this, she was part of a 4-people startup team working on Omni channel commerce, driving direct foot traffic into stores for large retailers. She also cofounded my own .edu-tech startup.
