Speakers

Jose Tiñana is a Technical Product Manager of the LDT department at Expedia. With a background in software development and web technologies he was slowly moving into Project/Product Management roles. Working previously on real time, track and trace system for countries and government security solutions, now drives multiple products in the streaming space with massive data management.

Stéphane Cruchon is a design consultant specialized in user experience and the first independent organizer of Design Sprints in Switzerland. He is also teaching interactive media design at Eracom Lausanne. www.design-sprint.com

Speed, prioritization, risk management… Today’s companies face major challenges while conceiving their new digital products and services. We’ll see how Design Sprint, a UX and design thinking methodology originated in Google Ventures, can help companies and product managers develop better products faster and how to integrate creative Sprints in your workflow.

Daniel Petrariu is the Head of Product Management of Frontiers, an open access publisher. He has a background is in Computer Science where he started his career as a Software Developer before gradually moving towards Product Management. He joined Frontiers in May 2013, and has experienced various roles managing a wide range of frontiers products and practicing agile principles with local, onshore and offshore development teams.

In his presentation Daniel will be talking about (Software) Product Management in an environment with offshore development teams in India. The presentation and discussion will focus on the set-up, the processes, cultural challenges and ultimately how much value and agility can be achieved with this approach.

Sharon Khan is a technical product manager at Expedia. She has a background in product management and her career has focused on digital video delivery, predictive & advanced analytics, and personalization. She has worked at Amazon, BSkyB and most recently at the BBC leading the personalized recommendations proposition as part of the BBC’s digital strategy programme.

Nicolas Maesani currently works at Expedia as Senior Product Manager. Prior to this position, he had several senior roles in product management for technology companies such as Microsoft, SITA or Swisscom. He especially launched the first Mobile Virtual Network Operator for Airline Industry, an online coaching platform and a connected coffee machine. Nicolas is passionate about innovation and product creation. He is also an entrepreneur involved in the Swiss
start-up ecosystem. Nicolas holds a MBA from INSEAD and a Master of Science in Telecommunications engineering from Telecoms Sud Paris.
